Biography

Of portuguese-italian heritage, Martim attended the prestigious London School of Musical Theatre, where he was the recipient of the Charles Miller Song Award.

Prior to that, Martim spent four years under the tuition of Classical Soprano Sofia de Castro and Classical Baritone Diogo Oliveira at Primeiro Acto, in Portugal.

Martim made his professional debut as Tybalt in the Original Portugal Cast of Romeo & Juliet: the Musical. That was the 16th worldwide production of french composer Gérard Presgurvic’s masterpiece.

From then onwards, Martim appeared in numerous theatrical productions, making his way to London’s Union Theatre, where he starred as Aldolpho in The Drowsy Chaperone. Some of his other roles include Angel in RENT, Dmitry in Anastasia, Moritz in Spring Awakening, Joe in Merrily We Roll Along and Malvolio in Twelfth Night.

Most recently, as a lead vocalist for luxurious cruise lines, Martim performed in over 50 countries and captivated worldwide audiences both in productions shows and as a solo artiste.

Simultaneously to his artistic endeavours, Martim qualified as a Medical Doctor at the Lisbon School of Medicine. He published his first scientific paper as a first author on BMC Medical Education just after graduating.
